Un coursier est quelqu'un qui livre des messages et des colis. Dans la ville de New York, il/elle est payé à la livraison plutôt qu'à  l'heure. A messenger is someone who delivers (or dispatches) messages and packages. In NYC, he/she is paid by the delivery rather than by the hour.
